The Fair Contract Charter. The floor of every agreement.
Ten provisions, in plain language, that appear in the A8 Core™ standard agreement for every institution — drawn from the contract terms bankers scored lowest in the 2024 ABA Core Platforms Survey and from the ABA Principles for Strong Bank–Core Provider Relationships.
The ten provisions
Each is a term of the standard agreement; each maps to something the platform produces.
Coterminous terms
Every module, add-on and service under one agreement ends on one date. No add-on outlives the core term to trap a renewal.
Termination fees stated and prorated
If a fee applies to early termination, it is stated in the agreement in dollars or as a formula, and it declines in proportion to the remaining term.
Your data is yours
The institution owns its data. A published deconversion and data-export schedule — format, cadence, cost basis — is part of the agreement before signature, not a negotiation after notice.
Usage-metered pricing
Charges follow accounts, operations and data, not seats. Examiners and auditors read at no charge.
Historical data at cost
Extracts of historical data are priced at cost on a published rate card, produced by the same export job that runs every night.
Complete, public API documentation
The API reference and OpenAPI description are public. Nothing ships undocumented; nothing documented is reserved to a paid tier.
No exclusivity, no best-of-breed penalty
The institution may use any third party. Integration patterns are named in the Integration Exchange; there is no surcharge for choosing another provider.
Real-time by architecture
Postings, states and events are emitted as they occur. The agreement does not define service by batch windows.
Standardized SLA reporting, routinely delivered
Service levels are reported on a fixed schedule in a standard format, computed from B5 Secure™ evidence records that the institution can verify offline.
Affirms the ABA Principles
The agreement affirms the ABA Principles for Strong Bank–Core Provider Relationships and is drafted to be examined against them.
Status. These provisions are Foundation: contract terms A8 Core™ offers to every institution, not product features and not a self-assessment. They apply on execution of an agreement; agreement terms govern. Nothing on this page is a claim of current availability — see product status.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers, with the status stated.
Is the Charter a separate document?
No. It is a plain-language statement of provisions that appear in the standard agreement. If the agreement and this page ever differ, the agreement governs.
Can a term be negotiated away?
The Charter provisions are the floor of the standard agreement. An institution may negotiate more favourable terms; the platform does not offer less favourable ones to anyone.
What is the status of the Charter?
Foundation: contract provisions offered to every institution on execution of an agreement. It is not a product feature and not a statement of current customers.
