Know your transactions.

KYC proves who a customer is. KYB proves what an entity is. KYT — know your transactions — is the third leg: watching what accounts actually do, continuously, so suspicious patterns surface before an examiner surfaces them for you. This page states plainly what A8 Core™ provides today, and what is planned.

What a monitoring program needs from its core

A transaction-monitoring system is only as good as the data beneath it. A8 Core™ was designed so that data exists by construction.

Real-time events

Every transfer, deposit, distribution and status change fires a webhook event the moment it posts — no batch window between the transaction and the signal a monitoring engine consumes.

Complete ledger history

Every record keeps its history. A monitoring alert can be investigated against the authoritative ledger — amounts, counterparties, timing — rather than a reporting copy.

Authorization evidence

B5 Secure™ authorizes every data element and records the decision. When an alert becomes a case, the question “who was permitted to do what, and when” already has a documented answer.

Where monitoring itself runs In progress

A8 Core™ does not ship a native detection engine today, and this page will not pretend otherwise. Monitoring is served two ways:

Integration Exchange. Specialist transaction-monitoring and identity-risk providers connect through the same governed integration surface that serves tax reporting — the platform supplies the real-time event stream and ledger context; the specialist supplies detection models and case tooling. Platform module. A native monitoring surface — rules-as-data thresholds, velocity and structuring patterns, and case routing in Operations Studio — is on the roadmap and will publish on the product-status page when its status changes, not before.

SARs, CTRs and the filings themselves

Filing obligations belong to the financial institution — A8 Core™ does not file on your behalf, and a vendor that claims to relieve you of a BSA obligation is mis-stating the law.

What the platform does is make the filings producible: currency-transaction thresholds are visible in real time rather than in tomorrow’s batch; the record behind a suspicious-activity narrative — who moved what, where, under whose authority — is already assembled in the ledger and the evidence trail; and examination support gives your BSA officer read access that costs nothing to grant.

Perpetual KYC: the identity side of the same idea

The industry is moving verification from the calendar to the event — re-checking a customer when a sanctions list updates or ownership changes, not when an annual review comes due.

That shift has a name, perpetual KYC, and it is the identity-side analogue of a principle this platform already runs on the authorization side: decisions are made continuously, per request, per data element — never granted once and assumed thereafter. A core built on continuous decisions is the natural substrate for continuous verification.

The vocabulary, in one place

KYC, KYB, KYT, CDD, EDD, CIP, SAR, CTR, UBO, OFAC, FinCEN and the rest are defined in the A8 Core™ glossary, and the institution-side obligations are covered in the compliance overview.
