Ownership, custody, and the record. Preserve the investor, the entitlement, and the evidence.

A8 Core™ models ownership across three levels — party, account, and position — and keeps custody where it legally lives: on the position. The result connects who owns what, who may act, where an asset is held, and the evidence behind every claim.

Three levels, one model

Ownership is expressed consistently from the party down to the individual holding.

Party Party

The person or entity that can own, act, or benefit — carried once and reused across every account and position.

Account Account

The relationship under which assets are held and administered, classified by what the record legally is.

Position Position

The individual holding. Custody, entitlement, and location live here, where they can be proven for each asset.

Two axes of ownership

Who benefits and who may act are modeled separately, because they answer different questions.

Owners beneficial %

Beneficial owners and their ownership form, summing to a complete picture of who economically owns the position.

Capacities who-may-act

The parties authorized to act on the account — the authorization surface that feeds enforcement.

Entitlements & custody Article 8

Securities entitlements under UCC Article 8, the intermediary that holds them, and the custody relationship for each position.

Enforcement is continuous: B5 Secure™ authorizes every action against the ownership and capacity model, per data element. For the legal framework behind entitlements, see Article 8.
